CLAT

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is India’s leading national-level entrance exam for law. It is conducted every year by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) and is the main route into the country’s top law schools.

CLAT UG is for students who have passed or are appearing for Class 12. It leads to five-year integrated law programs such as the BA LL.B (Hons.), with some NLUs also offering BBA LL.B, BSc LL.B and BCom LL.B. CLAT PG is for law graduates seeking admission to the one-year LL.M program. Several public sector undertakings also use CLAT PG scores for recruitment.

Unlike many entrance exams, CLAT does not test memorised facts or prior legal knowledge. It is a reading-based test of how well you understand, reason and apply ideas. The UG paper has 120 passage-based questions across five sections: English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques.

First held in 2008, CLAT is conducted once a year, usually on the first Sunday of December, in offline (pen-and-paper) mode. CLAT 2027 is scheduled for 6 December 2026.

Pranab K Mehta

Pranab Mehta is one of the senior most faculty with CLATutor.com and takes care of Academics and Technology execution in the company. Ready to face any challenge thrown his way, he started his career in the food business. He then spent more than a decade training students for various competitive entrance examinations such as CLAT/IIT JEE, CAT/GMAT/GRE/Bank PO. He achieved recognition and respect for his innovative teaching and his commitment to guiding his students to success. His motto is 'life is all about experimenting opportunities that lie beyond the corner'. Pranab is a rare combination of a sportsman with a keen business acumen and love for mathematics. He has the rare knack of making students fall in love with one of the most dreaded subjects in academics. His ability to change a student's fear of maths into a passion makes him stand out as a teacher of exceptional abilities.

Niraj Kumar

Niraj is also associated with CLATutor as faculty since 2007. He is the brain behind the company's brand. A man with tremendous knowledge and experience of academics and marketing, he is a well known name in the student community. Niraj has successfully forged institutional tie ups to help the company reach out to the student community. An avid lover of numbers, Arithmetic is his forte. He has spent many hours in helping students understand the subject and apply it. A popular and effective mathematics teacher, Niraj uses his intelligence and understanding of numbers to analyze the stock markets during his leisure time.
