What is IPMAT?
The Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission to their 5-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM), which combines a BBA and MBA.

Which IIMs accept IPMAT scores?
Currently, IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak conduct their own versions of IPMAT. Other IIMs such as IIM Ranchi, IIM Jammu, and IIM Bodh Gaya also accept IPMAT (Indore/Rohtak) scores.

Who can apply for IPMAT?
Students who have completed or are appearing for Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board can apply. Minimum marks criteria vary by category — generally 60% for General/OBC/EWS and 55% for SC/ST/PwD.

How is IPMAT different for IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak?
Both have distinct exam patterns and selection processes:
IIM Indore's IPMAT includes Quantitative Aptitude (MCQ + Short Answer) and Verbal Ability, followed by Personal Interviews.
IIM Rohtak's version includes Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability, with a subsequent Personal Interview round.

Can students from non-commerce backgrounds apply?
Yes, students from any academic stream (Science, Commerce, Arts, Humanities) can apply as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.

What is the exam mode and duration?
The IPMAT is conducted online (computer-based) with a duration of 2 hours at both IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak (see Paper Pattern for section timings).

Is coaching necessary for IPMAT?
While not mandatory, structured guidance and mock test practice help significantly, especially in the Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability sections.

The exam is typically held in May or June each year, with applications opening around February–March.
